Yotty Yohanan: Vocals, Guitar / Revital Koliner: Vocals, Guitar

From their childhood in Tel Aviv to their arrival in New York City, the duo Yotty & Rev have been halves of a musical whole as long as they can remember.

Meeting in grammar school in their native Israel, Yotty & Revital’s musical collaboration grew out of a shared interest in American music and popular culture. “There weren’t many other girls picking up guitars and singing rock music” notes Yotty. “We wanted to do something that was unique, especially in our culture.” By High School, they were writing songs together, composing melodies on both guitar and piano. They continued to write together and perform in many different bands.

Their friendship and musical union has yielded over one hundred songs to date, and has endured despite both the coming of age and the hardships of war. Living so close to the volatile regions of the Middle East, their own involvement in military service has often inspired their lyrics. The heartfelt longing of “Can You Hear Me” is dedicated to the memory of a slain boyfriend.

Continuing to grow after completing military service, Yotty & Revital have continued to push the limits of their creativity, performing and perfecting their sinuous vocal teamwork. Their arrival in the US signals a new beginning, but Yotty & Rev are by no means leaving their home country behind. “We love Israel, it’s our home”, echoes Revital, “but we want to explore the world now, and share our music abroad “.
