The band is made up of four young gifted musicians, Robby Brown who is 17 years old from Wrightstown, PA (lead singer and guitar), Brian Pitonak who is 16 years old from Washington Crossing, PA (bass guitar), Chris Young who is from Bronx, NY (lead guitar) and Shaun Kelly who is from Harlem, NY (drums). The band writes and performs their own songs, which is a blend of a variety of music styles . . . Rock, Pop, while incorporating hip-hop grooves.

Over the years, the band has opened a variety of shows for major recording artists such as AVRIL LAVIGNE, CITY HIGH, PINK, BB MAK (twice, as recent as 8/9/02), LIFEHOUSE, NICK & AARON CARTER, SIMPLE PLAN, ANGIE MARTINEZ, SEV, SOLUNA, SOUL DECISION, AMANDA, AND EVE 6, PLUS OTHERS! No Need was invited back to open Pop Fest 4, starring Nick & Arron Carter on December 1, 2002 and also opened Pop Fest 3, a Clear Channel ‘sold out’ event headlined by Avril Lavigne at the Sovereign Bank Arena. No Need was invited to perform at Pop Fest 1 & 2 Pre-Concert Party and prior to the Pop Fest 2 concert, Lifehouse, who was riding the wave of the #4 song in the country joined No Need in signing autographs for a large crowd of fans! No Need was one of three bands selected nationally to perform at the Comcast Customer Appreciation Day. The band has performed in Disney World, Universal Studios, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, Sesame Place, Ocean City’s Boardwalk and famous Night in Venice Celebration, headlined at the 106.3 The Shore Radio Beach Bash on Morey’s Pier in Wildwood and 95.1 WAYV ‘End of Summer’ Concert to mention a few! The band has had three of their original songs played on South Jersey’s #1 radio station 106.3 The Shore, prior to being named ‘Best Local Band’ by a Philadelphia area newspaper called the Courier Times.

No Need will have two of their original songs on a 7 song compilation CD, with other major recording artists. 5.6 MILLION CDs to be placed in General Mills Cereal Boxes.  The CDs will appear on the market this March 2003!

No Need has spent the last several months writing and recording new songs, plus working on the Backstage Learning Program. No Need will write and perform positive message songs in order to address a number of young peoples’ concerns and issues. Backstage Learning will provide the much needed additional motivation for students to actively engage in reading and writing, while meeting national standards and reaching millions of students.

In November, the band began working on the ‘Time Zone’ television pilot. No Need will be the host band for the show and the viewers will get to know the unique personalities of each band member. The show will bring together kids from around the world through the power of music, showing the differences and similarities of many cultures around the world. Glow in the Dark Productions in New York City, the same production company that produces the popular John Edward’s Show will begin shopping the networks this September. Early indications are that there is allot of interest in the show. The television show would compliment the Backstage Learning Program and will also reach millions of young people.

In case you are wondering about the name of the band . . . No Need , it’s simple . . . No Need for the negatives!.
